David McDaniel brings back Ward Baldwin, his
Victorian-era-loving Thrush chieftain, in "The Hollow Crown Affair", a
direct sequel to his famous "The Dagger Affair". This time around,
Baldwin enlists the help of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin to help him
defeat a megalomaniac with an ultra-high-tech weapon who wants to take
over Thrush. The in-jokes come fast and furious, as usual, and there
are several great setpieces; the part where Solo and Kuryakin literally
blunder into Thrush Central itself, for example; the ultrasonic attack
on U.N.C.L.E. headquarters; and the campus riot (more of a fraternity
brawl, really) that the boys get mixed up in.
