Wiener Ausgabe sämtlicher Werke: Band 1 Frühe Dramen

This volume is the first unabridged publication of Horváth’s early dramatic works. The earliest texts, An Epilogue and Murder in the Mohrengasse (1923/24), as well as the 1924 drama Nobody, rediscovered only in 2015, are still marked by expressionism. With The Mountain Railway (1927) and The Belle Vue (1927), Horváth develops a "new folk play." The burlesque A Sexual Congress (1929) is a clear precursor to Tales from the Vienna Wood.
